Christine Jackson was born on February 21, 1953, in the vibrant borough of Brooklyn, New York, to her beloved parents, the late Maudie Isaac-Parris and the late Junior Davis. She began her academic journey at PS 44 and later graduated from Prospect Heights High School. Her thirst for knowledge led her to secretarial school, where she honed her administrative skills. She also embarked on a path of lifelong learning, achieving numerous certifications in culinary and business marketing.
Her spiritual calling led her to New York Theological Seminary School, where she diligently pursued her studies. In May 2005, she was ordained as a minister, Christine's commitment to serve God was evident as she manned the church prayer line, held uplifting home prayer services, and dedicated her time to volunteering at both the Mt. Carmel food pantry and the Bowery Mission. Her ministry, S.W.A.A.I.I.T. (Spiritual Warfare Annihilation Army International Intercessory Team) Ministries, was a testament to her unwavering faith in God and her dedication to serving. With purple and gold as her chosen colors, symbolizing royalty, Christine led countless prayers and devoted herself to the mission of bringing souls to Christ.
In her personal life, Christine found love and companionship with John Jackson, and from their union, they welcomed their daughter, Tia Jackson. She embraced her role as a mother and was actively involved in the PTA, attending all assemblies and special events to support her daughter. Christine continued her advocacy in her community by disseminating information to parents, feeding those in need and tirelessly praying for others.
One of Christine's greatest passions was cooking, an art she mastered through inspiration from her grandmother, Arrie Isaac. Her culinary creations were legendary, biscuits made from scratch - to delectable peach/apple cobblers, potato salad, and cod fish cakes. It was from this love of cooking that her business, Touch of Elegance Catering, was born. She lent her culinary talents to weddings, office parties, and corporate events, infusing each dish with love and warmth. She extended her generosity by preparing meals for the sick and those in need within her neighborhood. Later in life she took pride in being a grandmother and enjoyed baking with her grandson Aidan and sharing Bible stories with him.
Christine's career path led her to hold positions at Freedom National Bank and Pfizer Pharmaceuticals. Later in life, she wholeheartedly committed herself to her ministry,
In 2015, Christine faced a health challenge, but her unwavering faith and fervent prayer life enabled her to overcome multiple hospitalizations and procedures. Her determination and faith were an inspiration to all who knew her.
On Friday, September 15, 2023, Christine peacefully took her final rest at St. Francis Hospital in Rosyln, NY. Her memory will forever be cherished by those whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Tia Jackson, and her adored grandson, Aidan Jackson. Christine also leaves behind her siblings: Cheryl Parris, Nathaniel Parris, and Harold Parris Jr. She will be dearly missed by her sister-in-laws/brother-in-law Lois Troupe, Donna Johnson, Paulette Lewis, Kevin Curtis, her dear friends Daisy Gibson, Joycelin Allgood, Najuma Burke, and her nieces and nephews: Adina Augustine, Chiquita Harrell, Jabez Parris, Kenyell Parris, Kyle Parris, and Shelita Thomas, along with a host of other relatives and friends.
