Charles McMichael Sr. a life long resident of Brooklyn, New York was born in Bamberg, South Carolina to the late James and Elouise McMichael.

Charles was the last living brother of 11 siblings. Charles (Charlie) McMichael, Sr, was a man of pride and had a personality that fit in anywhere.  He was a quiet man but, he was also a man whom you did not want to push either.  He loved eating and dessert was his favorite food. He liked and enjoyed cooking game meats. Even though he worked a lot, there was time for family gatherings, road trips, amusements parks and outings.
